How can Pilates help reduce negative stress and promote positive stress?
Duration: 62 minutes
Level: suitable for all training levels, from absolute beginner to Pilates professional
If you've been attending our LIVE Pilates classes for any length of time, you may have noticed that not only is your body changing in a positive way, but so is your stress tolerance. I would like to briefly describe why this is the case in this newsletter.
Pilates is an effective method to regulate both negative stress, also called distress, and positive stress, also called eustress. Through the very targeted Pilates exercises, which connect body and mind, you can relax and at the same time strengthen physically and mentally.
However, it is important that you choose exercises that are appropriate for your level of training. If you overstrain yourself, NEGATIVE STRESS will result. To find out, I recommend you our Pilatesclub.com, where you will have the opportunity to train according to a training plan that you can adapt to your level.
Pilates also helps calm the mind by releasing tension in the body through breathing exercises and specific movements. The stress level decreases.
Pilates also promotes POSITIVE STRESS, which motivates us and helps us overcome challenges. Through regular training you feel physically and mentally stronger. Challenges in everyday life are overcome more easily and successfully.
Pilates can also help you deal with stress better. By getting to know your body and breathing better, you can stay quicker, calm and focused in stressful situations.
Conclusion: Pilates is a valuable tool for reducing negative stress and promoting positive stress. By practicing regularly, you will not only improve your physical and mental fitness, but also your ability to deal with stress.
If you want to learn more about stress, you will soon find an article about it in our Pilates Magazine.
In today's LIVE program, I will repeatedly incorporate exercises that not only relieve tension, but can also help you to reduce and regulate stress. The final relaxation session will help you to calm down and cope with everyday life in a more relaxed way.
