For whom is Pilates suitable?

Pilates is for Any age group and suitable for any type of movement.

Top athletes see Pilates training as the basis for their training program.

Pilates is often called Re-entry program used after injury, pregnancy, or other break from exercise.

Physiotherapists use the Pilates program more and more as a Therapy support.

People who want to do something good for their body, put on Pilates as a Prophylaxis training.

How is Pilates different from yoga?

Pilates is in comparison to yoga a very young training philosophy. It was developed at the beginning of the 20th century by the German Training visionary Joseph Pilates developed.

The focus is on the goal of moving as efficiently and functionally as possible. The physical aspect is in the foreground here.

Yoga is an over centuries old Philosophy of life and does not focus on movement, but leads through so-called asanas, breathing techniques and meditation to inner peace and in the best case to self-knowledge.

How often do I need to practice Pilates to feel an effect?

Beginner we recommend short sequences up to 5x a week.

Slightly advanced: 3 short and 2 longer sequences, spread over the week.

Advanced: 3 - 5 sequences per week. 3 x Intermediate, 2x Advanced.

In addition, you are welcome to choose 1 - 3 exercises daily to deepen. This trains the body awareness.

You don't have to worry about that in our online Pilates class. With our Training calendar you have the right training program for every experience level. You decide how often and when you want to train. Your training calendar takes care of the rest.

Can I lose weight with Pilates?

You can only lose weight if you burn more energy than you take in.

Pilates in any case strengthens the muscles. Muscles are the catalyst in our body, which consumes a lot of energy.

The muscles change the body silhouette, i.e. the waist narrows, arms, legs as well as buttocks define.

Does Pilates help with back pain?

Pilates helps in any case with chronic and often also for acute back pain or can also prevent and in many cases also treat them.

Whereas, in case of disc problems or prolonged back pain, always consult with a therapist or doctor.

Does Pilates help with shoulder pain?

Pilates can relieve shoulder pain and also prevent it because the shoulder joint is a muscle-secured joint and is primarily secured by the muscles.

In the case of impingement syndrome as well as frozen shoulder or severe, prolonged Pain in the shoulder area must always be consulted with a therapist or doctor.

Can I train my pelvic floor with Pilates?

A healthy pelvic floor is achieved in any case at the Pilates training. Subsequently, Pilates also promotes the functionality of the pelvic floor. For men, by the way, as well as for women.

In case of dysfunction or immediately after pregnancy or abdominal surgery as well as prostate surgery should always consult with the attending physician and therapist.

Of course, it's even better for your pelvic floor if you do Pilates from scratch with our online Pilates course learn

What equipment and tools are used in Pilates training?

Flex band, Pilates balls and Pilates roller are already in our Training program integrated or currently in process.

Pilates Circle and Core Sliders are in the planning stages.

What are the benefits of the flex band and the other Pilates small equipment in Pilates training?

More body feeling, partly greater challenge or also support with some exercises. Promotion of sensorimotor function (sense of balance). Prevention of falls and promotion of concentration as well as body awareness.

What should I look for when buying a flex band?

The tape should be at least 2.5 m long.

Pay attention to the thickness - it is recommended to buy two different thicknesses.

Beginners should start with light (meglio) or medium (Sissel), depending on the manufacturer.

In case of latex allergy, switch to latex-free material (e.g. meglio).

How long has Pilates been around?

Since the beginning of the 20th century. However, Pilates became known much later through the trainers who were trained by Jospeh Pilates.

Today, Pilates is a very popular workout, which can not be imagined without even in elite sports.

Why is Pilates called "Pilates"?

Pilates was named after the inventor of the training method Joseph Pilateswho was born in 1880 in Mönchengladbach, Germany. He himself named the program "Contrology".

Subject: Online Pilates Course

Do I need equipment to join your class?

In principle, no. The only thing you need for our online Pilates class is a mat and comfortable workout clothes.

Coming soon are new workouts ("challenges") where we use the flex band, softball, and Pilates roller.

We will inform our active members about this in the near future.

Other devices such as Circle and Core Sliders are planned.

Is your course also suitable for advanced students?

In any case, our course is also suitable for Pilates experienced as well as advanced.

Our online Pilates course consists of over 12 workout plans. The training plans differ in difficulty and build on each other.

For advanced users we recommend:

No matter what your Pilates experience is, start at the Basic 1 workout plan (also called Season 1 in the online course).

Repetition never hurts, on the contrary. With repetition, you build a strong foundation for your Pilates workout.

Often, even Pilates professionals make mistakes in their exercise execution. Therefore, repeating makes sense even for long-time professionals.

Alternatively, you can also start with Training Plan Basic 4 (also called Season 4 in the online course). In the Basic 4 training plan, all exercises from the beginner's section "Pilates Basic" are repeated in a short version.

  1. If you find that the workouts challenge you too much, go back to Training Plan Basic 1.
  2. If you find that the workouts are appropriate for your current level, then complete the Basic 4 workout plan and move on to the next level Intermediate 5.
  3. If you find that the workouts are very easy for you, then get on the Intermediate 7 workout plan.

Our Tip: Do the video self check.
We explain how this works in the Basic 1 training plan on exercise day 19.

Can I skip the introductory exercises?

Is not recommended, as it loses the attention to detail and quality of each exercise.

Better to go along once and then decide if you can do without repeating.

Even Pilates trainers at the master class level repeat the beginner exercises over and over again. In time, you will find that these supposedly very simple exercises, if performed correctly, are difficult. And are the absolute basis for any Pilates workout.

Do you also offer classes with the Pilates Reformer?

Are in planning! But will still take a little time. We are already looking forward to it!
